We provide Canadian canoes and Kayaks for any size group and have fully qualified instructors for groups with little or no canoeing experience.

We use Old Town canoes and Ocean Kayaks, which are great for beginners and experienced paddlers.

Canadian Canoeing, Kayaking and Canoe hire on the River Wye is becoming more popular each year, with good transport links into Hereford, riverside campsites, B&B’s, Pubs and attractions at various points from Glasbury to Chepstow covering 100 mile of the River Wye.

Each section of the River Wye is divided into day and half day river trips. Along the way you will experience breathtaking views and sights with places to stop and river campsites

Glasbury – Hay on Wye (5.5 mile)
The River Wye goes through a number of towns including Hay on Wye, which is famous for its book shops and home to Hay festival and Hay on Fire. Nearly all canoe trips that finish in Hay on Wye start up stream at Glasbury and there are still old River laws in place, that prevent people paddling upstream between Hay bridge and Glasbury bridge. The public landing point is just down from Hay bridge on the right bank which has a small parking area to collect boats from.

Whitney – 10.25 Mile
Between Hay on Wye and Whitney on Wye you will pass under Whitney Toll bridge just short of the Boat Inn. This is a well used landing point on the left bank in the pub’s beer garden. The Pound B&B and campsite has good facilities here and is often busy, booking ahead is recommended.

Bredwardine – 19.5 Miles
The next stop down from Whitney on Wye is a small beach area at Bredwardine just passed the old stone bridge on the right bank. The Old Toll Gate provides good accommodation next to the River Wye and they also provide food / lunch bags for canoe groups staying with them.

Hereford – 33.75 Mile
Hereford is 15 mile down stream from Bredwardine and is the largest settlement on the River Wye. Hereford Rowing Club provides excellent camping facilities and has an on site bar for members and canoe hire groups. From Hereford Rowing Club it’s just a few minutes walk into the city centre, where you will find Hereford Cathedral which is home to the Mappa Mundi (European term for map of the world) which dates back to the 13th century and the Chained library. We are situated on the left bank of the River Wye 300 meters down from Hereford Rowing Club in Gwynn House which was the birth place of Nell Gwynn, from which the rags-to-royalty story of Cinderella was based on.

Hereford is packed with various Hotels, B&B’s and Guest houses which all welcome canoe groups. There are also many restaurants, cafe’s and bars that cater for any type of canoe group from corporate team building and family adventure holidays to stag and hen parties.

Hoarwithy – 51 Mile
Hereford to Hoarwithy is one of the quieter canoe hire sections of the River Wye, finishing at a good campsite which also has a pub situated just 200 meters from it. There are B&B’s here but booking ahead is recommended as they can get busy during peak season. This is an ideal location to stop over on a two day river trip between Hereford and Ross on Wye

Ross on Wye – 61.75 Mile
Ross on Wye is around 10 mile from Hoarwithy and is another great place to stop over or to finish up at. There are a number of pub’s with beer gardens on the bank of the River Wye here which all do food. Camping is also available in Ross on Wye at the White Lion Inn, Pub and B&B but this is limited and by prior arrangement only.

Symonds Yat East – 76 Mile
From Ross on Wye the river meanders through Symonds Yat in the Forest of Dean which is a popular tourist destination. Symonds Yat name came from Robert Symonds who was a 17th century sheriff. Symonds Yat Gorge was mined for iron ore and the remains of the smelting works are located down stream of the Symonds Yat Rapids, which are a grade two, man made section, which makes this an exciting and interesting part of the River Wye. Huntsman bridge is located in the middle of Symonds Yat next to the YHA building that is available for accommodation and within easy reach of Symonds Yat East which is on the Gloucestershire side of the river. There are two hotels here and the Saracens Head pub which provides food.

Monmouth – 82 Mile
Following on from Symonds Yat the River Wye moves to Monmouth where it meets the River Monnow. There is a public landing point next to Monmouth Rowing Club for canoe groups to get on and off the river. This historic town offers hotel and B&B accommodation with restaurants, cafe’s and bars that cater for any type of canoe group.

Tintern Abby – 93.5 mile
Moving down from Monmouth the River Wye heads towards Redbrook and from here to Chepstow the river runs inline with the boarder of England and Wales. There are two good pubs in Redbrook on either side of the river and getting on and off is easy. After Redbrook the river moves to Brockweir bridge and the landing point is just up stream on the lefthand bank. Beyond this bridge the River Wye is tidal and only experienced / expert paddlers should continue down to Tintern. Landing at Tintern is on the right bank just before Tintern Abby. This is a spectacular site to see and if you stop short in Brockweir, it’s definitely worth a drive down to look around the Abby. There are hotels and B&B’s in Tintern, with cafe’s and pubs that cater for any type of canoe group

Chepstow – 100 mile
Chepstow famous for Chepstow Race course and host to the Welsh Grand National, is also home to the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain. Chepstow has good transport links to both England across the seven bridge into Bristol and South Wales. There is a landing point for canoes & kayaks with free parking but the campsite is nearly two miles away. There are good facilities in Chepstow with many hotels, B&B’s and guest houses with a range of restaurants, cafe’s and bars that cater for any type of canoe group
